About Bankruptcy from Abroad

Bankruptcy from Abroad has handled many complex overseas bankruptcy cases. From clients that owe a few thousand pounds to clients that have owed in excess of two million, we can assist you.

Below we list some information about the regulations and standards that our company operates under;

  • Most importantly are we authorised to advise and handle matters in relation to Bankruptcy?

The straightforward answer is that Bankruptcy from Abroad are licensed to advise people on matters of Insolvency and Bankruptcy.

  • Who authorises us to be able to do this and who checks that we are a legitimate company?

Any company in the UK that advises on matters in relation to debt MUST be licensed to do so. The Licence that must be held by an individual or company is called a Consumer Credit Licence (sometimes abbreviated to CCL). This particular license is issued by the Office of Fair Trading after a very stringent application process.

  • How can someone tell if a company or person holds such a licence?

A company or individual should show their Credit Licence Number on their website and documentation. Our Consumer Credit Licence Number is 620633 and this is shown on the footer of our website and also on our company paperwork. You are also able to check if a company or person holds this type of licence by checking the Office of Fair Trading website www.oft.gov.uk

  • What should I do if the company or person advising me does not hold a Consumer Credit Licence?

The simple answer is DO NOT USE them. They are unlicensed and should not be advising people in any aspect of debt or bankruptcy. These companies and individuals should be reported to the Office of Fair Trading immediately.

  • Is my Data held securely and in complete confidence? Also is this information ever sold or passed on to any third party company?

We operate under a data protection licence that is issued by the Information Commissioner Office (ICO). We also adhere to data protection laws when dealing with confidential information. We never disclose or sell data on to any third party company.
